A Glimpse of Gospel Hump Wilderness

A while back, in the last week of June, my wife and I left all our work behind and hopped in our Cherokee for a drive. We ended up in the Gospel Hump Wilderness. What a beautiful drive! They say it is home of the highest mountains in Idaho north of the Salmon River and east of the higher Bitterroots on the Montana border. 101_1490

The roads are enough to make you glad you brought a Jeep. This is one of the better parts of the road.

This is a view of Lower Gospel Lake. You can get this view from the road.

Lower Gospel Lake

We started down the trail to the lower lake but we were running out of daylight and had to turn back.

We knew we were pretty high since it was a hundred degree day at home and up here we were seeing snow! We were around 7100ft. in elevation.
