Who is The J20 Jeepster?

I have always liked fixing things. Most of the time I can bring whatever it is, that was broken, back to life. I also have come to realize, in most cases, if you want something done right you will have to do it yourself. Not to mention it is a whole lot CHEAPER! Yeah, I like to save money.  Who doesn’t?

Years ago I had a pretty good mechanical challenge after buying an old Suburban. I was told by a few guys I shouldn’t try it and I would be better off taking it to a shop. I looked all over online to see if anyone had done a job like this in their driveway with basic tools. I didn’t really find the reassurance I was looking for.

Then I had an idea! I’ll just film it! That way I can put it back together even if things get too complicated for this “Bean Head” to remember!

After successfully doing the job I had all this footage sitting there on my camera. Why not put it online so someone else can see you don’t have to have all the fancy tools and a shop to get it done? So that’s just what I did. I uploaded my first YouTube video. After it started getting hits and comments I just started to film all the projects I could! Why not? I get a lot of useful info off the internet, why not give some back?

I realize there is a lot that gets missed on the YouTube channel. Also, some people prefer to read the info and get to know the author a little. So, I started this blog!

I enjoy taking pictures of things, (Like God’s wonderful creation, and sometimes Jeeps) fixing things, building things, and going on adventures with my family in my XJ. If this sounds like your cup of tea, I hope you will enjoy this site, check out my YouTube channel and enjoy!

Thank you for your support!

    > what about the radiator re-install??? no video for that…..
    > do you really need the clip for the transmission oil line, ive seen video’s that claim you can pull it loose with pliers??
    > what do you use on the red jeep to keep the paint looking so good? I have a 2000 cherokee sport (I live in Southern California) and my paint looks bad… Did you do a re-paint at some point in time????

Thanks for the comment! Here is the install video. Sorry it was hard to find. YouTube is not very nice to the little guys like me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LC2xtXqjzCI
It is true you could make your own tool to work, but I would not just pull it off with pliers. It works very much like a shark bite plumbing fitting.
As far as the paint, I was really fortunate to find one that had been garaged all it’s life. Original paint. I did wax it regularly once I had it, because I did not have a garage.
